DIY How to make a paper cake display tutorial
Valentines day is right around the corner! Here’s a Valentine’s day special tutorial of how to make a paper cake display. I wanted to make a big fake cake since baking a cake, cupcakes and other Valentine’s day goodies seems to be too much for just my husband and I. I wanted something big to have a visual impact, without effecting too much of our diet! So I made a paper cake to display my heart cake toppers. Enjoy!

DIY How to Make Paper Flowers Tutorials
This is The Little Canopy’s signature handmade paper flower wedding backdrop! It’s 9 feet wide by 18 feet tall, and it has about 600 handmade paper flowers on a fabric. The variety of flower shapes and sizes gives it much depth and texture, and the lighting that’s shooting from below and above give its dramatic finish. It took about 4-6 weeks to make since I only had after 5pm and the weekend to work on, and probably about 20 bags of hot glue sticks. You can find it in my etsy shop. Unfortunately since it’s so big I don’t have a shipping method for this, so it’ll have to be picked up in Atlanta, or you can buy the DIY listing where I ship out the flowers + fabric and you have to glue them yourself. Anyways I thought I’d dedicate this post to brides who would like to make themselves a handmade paper flower backdrop and find some useful tutorials. A lot of it is improvising, cutting petals in different shapes using the tutorials below, and just lots and lots of gluing! If you have paper scrap left over, cut it into a leaf shape and glue it at the bottom too.

I like having these everywhere in my house on shelves, bathroom, on my nightstand etc. These vases are from Michael’s, but it will be much cuter if you have miss matching vintage vases that you find from antique stores. I had a lot of craspedia billy ball flowers in my wedding bouquet, I only wish I made these sooner to incorporate them into my wedding.

Free Printable Bicycle Fingerprint Guest Book
This site is awesome! There are so many printable products at Wedding Chicks where you can type in what you need to without any other software. You can customize colors as well!! I wonder why I didn’t know about this way before my wedding. It would have been much helpful. This guestbook is a popping trend where your guests can imprint their thumbs with water based ink, and you can choose for them to write their name on it or just keep it a thumbnail. Find this printable poster here
These are what we made for our wedding. Bird cage hanging on a ribbon.
Of course, there are always rebellious guests that print their thumbs outside the designated area, for ex INSIDE THE CAGE. tsk tsk. It might be a good idea for you to print a small picture of what it’s suppose to look like. Oh and I used these inks.
